It should be eaten with zwieback and soybean butter. Combine equal parts steel cut oats and bran and cook for 6-10 minutes. Do not use sugar on oatmeal. 2 heaping TBSP to one quart of water and simmer for half an hour. For a cool drink: 1 heaping TBSP to one quart of water and simmer two hours.
Oatmeal should be a basic food for children and in winter months as it prevents congestion.
