Health Benefits Of Olive Leaf Extract

What is Olive Leaf Extract?

From the leaves of the Olive plant, this extract is powerful at intestinal cleaning and normalizing yeast levels so it is a great herb for Candida sufferers. By promoting good intestinal health and supporting the yeast balance in the body, this extract supports the immune system. You’ve probably heard that illnesses may stem from bad intestinal health. It’s true and studies support it. Your intestines are actually a huge part of your immune system. This is where you eliminate waste and toxins from the body and if your body can’t efficiently do this, then it suffers. This is an herb made for yeast and Candida sufferers. It is effective at also treating thrush.

The olives are harvested in the green-to-purple stage, and they are more fully-fleshed in orchards than in the wild. In the early 1800s, crushed oil leaves were used in drinks to lower fevers; a few decades later, they were used in tea as a treatment for malaria. In Moroccan medicine, olive leaf is infused in order to stabilize blood sugar and control diabetes.*

According to a study done on olive leaf extract:

“Olive phenolics in general, which are present in high levels in olive leaf supplements, appears to potently protect LDL cholesterol from oxidation; this is attributed to the anti-inflammatory effects of hydroxytyrosol, and appears to be active at a low enough dose to apply to consumption of olive product consumption. Olive leaf may also benficially influence the levels of lipoproteins in a beneficial manner (LDL, HDL, total cholesterol) although the actual changes in lipoprotein content is rather small. Overall, olive phenolics are more anti-artherosclerotic than they are cholesterol reducing.

There appears to be beneficial effects on glucose metabolism, which may be related to the pancreas. The mechanisms of olive leaf and glucose metabolism are not fully elucidated at this point in time, but appears to be more of a preventative supplement than a rehabilitative one.

Although olive leaf has been implicated in various fat burning effects (increased thyroid hormones and adrenaline) there does not appear to be any overall fat lost in trials using olive leaf supplements; the reason for this is not known, but may be related to a decrease in levels of the receptor that adrenaline works through which may normalize the effects.”

According to
